FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Who are suitable candidates for dental implants?

In general, any person who has lost one or more teeth can be a good candidate for dental implants. Age is not a factor to treatment, which means that it is possible to have an implant even at an advanced age, or if you are presently wearing dentures.  Dental implants may represent the ideal solution for you. A dental complete dental exam will detemine if you are a candidat.

  1. Is the implant procedure long and painful?

Most implant procedures are simple and are performed with local anesthesia only.   Rarely must the dentist prescribe pre-medication before surgery. The recovery period is short and the implants themselves after surgery cause little discomfort. The duration of the surgery depends on the number of implants to be installed; it usually ranges from 30 minutes for one implant, to about one hour for four implants.  As for regular dental procedures, add to this time the positioning of the prosthesis or crowns on implants.

  1. Is this a safe procedure?

At Clinique dentaire et d’implantologie Tremblay, it is our duty to respect a strict surgical protocol.  For your safety, our clinical team is trained to observe the highest standards in surgery protocol and asepsis.  In addition, Dr. Tremblay and his team use state-of-the-art technologies such as the CBCT scan, which provides thorough diagnosis and highly successful surgical procedures.

  1. After the surgery, will I be without teeth?

In most cases, we install fixed permanent teeth the same day of surgery.   In other cases, temporary teeth are placed the same day of the surgery for the duration of the waiting period required for the implant integration.

  1. What is the success rate?

Dental implantology has a very high success rate in dentistry.  Complications associated to dental implant surgery are minimal and infrequent.  Durable and more solid than natural teeth, dental implants are a life investment for your global health.  To ensure the longevity of your dental implants, dental hygiene and regular check-ups are required. During your dental exam you will be provided with your diagnosis and prognosis in regards to dental implantology.

  1. What is the cost for a treatment?

It is extremely complex to evaluate the cost of a dental implant. The cost varies according to the needs of each patient and the treatment plan chosen. Following the consultation, a clear and detailed treatment plan will be provided to the patient before the start of any intervention.  An evaluation request can then be completed for your insurance company.
